About Diversified Roofing Co.
Diversified Roofing Co. was founded in 1979 by Galen Smoker, who operated the business from a converted barn next to his home. Thanks to strong customer service and attention to detail, the company grew steadily, increasing its workforce to more than a dozen employees by 1990.
Today, Diversified Roofing Co. remains a family-owned and operated company, proudly serving Lancaster and Chester County PA. Galen retired in 2020 but continues to be involved part-time. Leadership has passed to the next generation, with Galen’s son-in-law, Matt Hershey, serving as Co-owner and President, and his youngest son, Doug Smoker, serving as Co-owner and Vice President.
